Ruby Dee, Save The Children, and Blackberry Productions to be Honored by The Law and Policy Group, Inc. on Saturday, November 19th

The Law and Policy Group Honors Actor/Activist Ruby Dee, Save The Children, and Blackberry Productions, Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Theater for the New City in New York, NY.

(PRWEB) November 9, 2005 -- The Law and Policy Group is proud to host its annual Champagne Award Reception honoring acclaimed actor and civil rights activist Ms. Ruby Dee with the James Baldwin Award. Save The Children will receive the Stalwart Award. Harlem-based theater company, Blackberry Productions, will receive the Harriet Tubman Award. This year's reception theme is: "Focus on Children in Crisis."

The event will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Theater for the New City, located at 155 First Avenue, between 9th and 10th Streets in New York, NY. A Champagne Reception will begin at 6:00 p.m. during which the organization will host a Silent Auction featuring African Art. The Award Ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m., followed by a production of My Juilliard, a play by Gloria J. Browne, at 8:00 p.m.. My Juilliard "is a compassionate and uncompromising exploration of a Diva's struggle with Alzheimer's' disease."

Tickets start at $65.00 per person. Patron tickets are $100.00 per person. Proceeds benefit The Law and Policy Group Inc.'s HIV/AIDS Teen Outreach Program and the Frank Hall, Jr. scholarship fund.
