Banner Health recently enhanced their pre-employment background screening procedures with the assistance of Phoenix-based Universal Background Screening. The decision to enlarge the scope of background checks conducted on all new hires was made after an extensive internal review by Banner, with assistance from Universal. In addition, Banner consolidated multiple vendors and selected Universal to conduct background checks for all facilities in its seven-state network throughout the Western United States.

Under the healthcare provider’s new screening program, background checks include extensive criminal background searches, nationwide sex offender registry checks, verification of education degrees, professional license certifications, employment reference checks and more. Universal Background Screening provides such services to over 750 clients nationwide, including the majority of hospitals in Arizona.
While Universal Background Screening serves clients nationwide in a variety of industries, the company holds unique credentials and experience serving the healthcare industry.
