Thirty-year-old female offering friendship for $25,000 a week.
(PRWEB) November 10, 2005 -- A 30-year-old US woman is submitting press releases to major newspapers, radio stations, and national TV shows trying to draw attention to a unique concept she’s been working on for the last two years called Million Dollar Friend.
For $25,000, Julie will fly to a person’s hometown, spend a week with that person doing whatever they want to do, and she will also provide the kind of emotional support and caring only a friend can give.
“People have been coming up with ideas like this to some extent, but no one has carried it through the way I am going to. I remember about a year ago a teenager in Iowa or Nebraska was in the newspapers because he auctioned himself off on e-bay as a prom date. He didn’t make a lot of money off the deal, but this and other things I had seen on e-bay and heard about on TV made me think that my idea might just work.”
Julie is hoping that people will begin taking her up on her offer or she may just grab the attention of someone who might be able to help her launch a career in acting.
“I have always wanted to be an actress. I haven’t told very many people I know about my dream because I always expected I’d have a “normal” job. Where I come from, there aren’t a lot of acting jobs. People don’t make movies here. If someone sees what I am doing, maybe I will get some actor or director or producer to notice me or I’ll get some really unique job offers.
For me, this is all about finding a career I love and I think it would be good to use the skills I acquired from going to graduate school in some way. I don’t want to be a therapist in the traditional sense, and MDF is not about being anyone’s therapist. But if I could have fun and help others, then that’s what Million Dollar Friend is all about. If I become an actress, that’s great. And if that doesn’t work out, I know there has to be somebody out there just waiting to meet someone like me. I think I have a lot to offer and I think I have a creative energy that people are looking for.”
