VirtualAgility Inc. announces the release of VirtualAgility J-OPS WorkCenter, a platform for enabling interoperability and coordination within and among agencies to share intelligence, information, case management, and deterrence activities across multiple jurisdictions in law enforcement and intelligence.

VirtualAgility announces the release of its new J-OPS WorkCenter at an NCSI Technology Exposition 2005 held at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC. The VirtualAgility J-OPS WorkCenter is designed to enable interoperability and coordination within and among agencies to organize, plan, track and share intelligence, information, prevention, deterrence, and response activities. The J-OPS WorkCenter provides law enforcement and intelligence agencies at all levels, from local precinct to Federal partners, a centralized workspace where they can connect the right agencies, people, information and resources to the operations and procedures needed for planning, preparing and responding.

Stuart Rudolph, President of VirtualAgility, says that “this J-OPS WorkCenter product is the result of feedback from multiple law enforcement and intelligence organizations working on joint task force projects. They want a user-definable platform that allows role-based access to specific intelligence and operational processes, and also allows agencies to control their own source data and policies, sharing them as needed during contingency planning and response activities.”

One of VirtualAgility’s Advisors is William P. Crowell, who has held multiple senior positions in government, including Deputy Director of the National Security Agency. Crowell says that VirtualAgility’s J-OPS WorkCenter product elegantly delivers on his “long-held vision of using information technology to organize resources (people and information resources) for particular needs without physically moving them,” which can essentially create a “virtual organization, on demand.” Crowell concedes that “there’s always going to be a struggle between information sharing and information security, and this role-based, overlay technology nicely balances that. It doesn’t circumvent the security measures already in place.”

Jim McDonough, the co-founder and former COO/CTO of ETeam, (a premier provider of web-based emergency management applications) and current Virtual Agility Director, praises the release of the J-OPS WorkCenter. He notes it is “the perfect platform for law enforcement and intelligence agencies to do their contingency and joint operational planning, case management, incident tracking, and response coordination in a private information space that enables selected, secure information sharing across agencies and jurisdictions as needed.”
