Laurel Delaney, an international entrepreneur and author, will become a global business columnist for Entrepreneur magazine on Nov. 1.

Entrepreneur provides a wealth of wisdom to empower business owners worldwide to start and grow successful companies.

Delaney, a world-renowned expert on global small business, will write Entrepreneur’s “Global Village” monthly column featuring useful and relevant information that enables small businesses to go global.

More than 230,000 small businesses operating in the United States export roughly U.S. $1 billion a day, or U.S. $300 billion a year, according to the Department of Commerce. Still, small businesses have fallen far short of their international potential: Only about 10 percent of them operate in the global marketplace.

“The goal of the column is to help 90 percent of the world’s entrepreneurs and small businesses go global,” says Delaney, CEO of GlobeTrade.com, a leading global marketing, consulting and business Web-content providing company. “The column will report on everything from the best global websites, securing payment on an overseas deal, finding customers, determining transportation logistics and more. Read it, learn it and take action.”

"We are very excited Laurel's joining the Entrepreneur team,” says Rieva Lesonsky, Senior V.P. and Editorial Director for Entrepreneur Media, Inc. “Her insights will greatly benefit our readers, who are increasingly looking overseas to help expand their businesses.”

Delaney’s “Global Village” column will offer tips on going global and finding resources to expand internationally and provide advice from business owners and other experts in international business.

“There are just no more excuses on why companies aren’t going global,” Delaney says. “Rather, this is the beginning of a global small business revolution.”

Delaney’s “Global Village” columns can be read in Entrepreneur magazine or accessed via the Web at http://www.entrepreneur.com/magazine.
