U.S. Senate Candidate, Former Marine, Sheeler, Condemns “Cowardly” Terrorist Attack on Jordan

-- The Jordanian Suicide Bombings Demonstrate Terrorism is not unique to only Western Countries, but also those Islamic Nations Wishing to Embrace Democracy and Freedom for their Citizens --

Providence, RI (PRWEB) November 10, 2005 -- Carl Sheeler, Rhode Island Democratic Candidate for U.S. Senate in 2006, said “My prayers and hopes go to the families of the victims of the cowardly Al Qaeda backed terrorist attacks on Jordanian land that borders Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Israel (including the West Bank). Terrorism is not unique to only western countries, but also those Islamic nations wishing to embrace democracy and freedom for their citizens. This attack provides further evidence the battle, which has extended to Spain and London after our occupation of Iraq, is not one that can be fought conventionally.”

“King Hussein and King Abdallah, who followed, have strived to bring peace to the region and have made many achievements to respect political and human rights and improve living standards through economic and political reforms in this small, Islamic nation of mostly Sunni Muslims. The terrorists’ act was surely an attempt to undermine Jordan’s progress towards global interdependence and its peaceful relationship with Israel.”
