The Office Safety Company Take The Hassle Out of Accident Reporting

In these days of increasing government “Red Tape,” it’s great to see a company that is working to make life easier for the small businessman. Of course one of the ways in which businesses get caught out in the first place is that they simply don’t know about all the legislation, let alone get a chance to comply with it.

(PRWEB) November 12, 2005 -- In these days of increasing government “Red Tape,” it’s great to see a company that is working to make life easier for the small businessman. Of course one of the ways in which businesses get caught out in the first place is that they simply don’t know about all the legislation, let alone get a chance to comply with it.

With this in mind, the Office Safety company (part of the Health and Safety Group) has not only set up an online resource on UK Health and Safety legislation on www.officesafety.co.uk, it has also developed an easy to use Accident Report book to help businesses comply with the letter of the law.

Accident Reporting – It’s the Law – So why make it difficult for yourself

If you employ over 10 staff, you must by law have an accident book on the premises and what’s more, it must be the new version - which protects personal information. The new Accident Report Book from the Office Safety company is not only easy to use, it’s smaller (just A5 rather than A5) and is cheaper too.

The all new Accident book has been created so that individual cases can be reported independent of each other and that records can be separated, you see the older (now illegal) design of accident books allowed other people to view personal details that have been entered from previous accidents. This is in clear breach of The Data Protection Act, whose primary concern is to protect personal information, ensuring it is not misused in any way.

Why you need an Accident Report Book
The purpose of an accident book is to record information surrounding the occurrence of accidents and about the consequences to the individuals concerned, and of course so that such accidents can be prevented in the future. However much of this stored data is clearly personal information and therefore needs to be protected so that others cannot view it. The new Accident Report book design does just this, allowing details of accidents and affected individuals to be recorded, but each report can be easily detached for filing and storage in a separate and secure location.

The deadline for the change-over form old style accident books to the new ones was 31st December 2003, so if you haven’t already done so you’d better change today, and remember why use complicated & expensive accident books when you can get an easy to use one from www.officesafety.co.uk the Office Safety company.
