In the recent month Alex de Castro has accomplished great success in the entertainment industry (Broadway, Television and Print).
(PRWEB) November 21, 2005 -- Alex de Castro, age 10, has just been offered an additional 6 month contract from Disney to continue playing the role of “Young Nala” in “The Lion King” on Broadway. The acceptance of this offer has extended her contract from February 26th to August 27th, 2006. In addition, she also just landed herself another season with MTV’s new show “Wonder Showzen” with on-camera and voice over work. “Wonder Showzen is an absurdist comedy/variety show, spiked with a team of puppets, kids, cartoons, and old educational films.” As if this wasn’t enough to keep this young girl busy, she also just booked print work with “Sensationnel’s Hair Zone”, one of the world's leading importers and wholesalers of designer wigs, hairpieces, braids, weaves, extensions and accessories.
Alex has been professionally involved in the entertainment industry since the age of 5. Some of her past credits include her role as "Ngana" in Rodgers & Hammerstein's "South Pacific" at Carnegie Hall where she co-starred with artists such as Reba McEntire, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Lillias White and Alec Baldwin, the Off Broadway production of "Blood & Honey" and not too long ago she was the youngest “Youth Dance Team Member” for former Knicks player, John Starks’ professional basketball team, The Westchester Wildfires. Aside from many other stage productions, she also has national exposure in print, television and voice-overs.
Alex studies and trains in Yonkers. She attends Pearls Hawthorne, a school for academically gifted children and the performing arts after school program, Youth Theatre Interactions Monday through Friday where she studies in various forms of dance, voice and theatre. When asked where she sees herself in the future she says "I look forward to a very successful career in the entertainment industry and to attend Julliard College." Alex is thankful for her many blessings and the support of her family and friends.
