Got Jobs? Employment on the Rise for Martial Arts Talent
Employers and recruiters seeking martial arts talent make the most of specialty job and casting site. Martial arts instructors and related professionals finding more career options.
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 11, 2005 -- MartialArtsTalent.net announces a sharp increase in the number of jobs posted by recruiters at its casting and job site. Non-entertainment jobs have nearly doubled since the time they added an employment section (for non-casting jobs) in early September.
“Of course, our first priority is casting,” says site founder S.K. Fentress, “but as our database of martial arts talent grew, job listings for martial artists was a natural progression. Recruiters were already placing instructor ads in the casting section, so we finally made a separate section dedicated to professional jobs.”
What does this mean for job hopefuls? Seemingly, a better resource. Currently most prospective martial arts instructors find jobs by word of mouth, small newspaper ads or openings at their own schools. Now they can find a variety of jobs for martial artists in one place. This can be especially helpful when people relocate to a new area and don’t yet have essential connections.
When asked about the type of jobs outside of casting that the site advertises for, a spokesman told us, ”Over 60% of our non-entertainment jobs are for martial arts instructors, but recruiters also post for sales people, school managers, front desk people, security professionals, writers and anything else where martial arts knowledge or skill is required or preferred. Also, the jobs are more geographically diverse than casting which tends to be concentrated in major cities like New York and Los Angeles.”
Not everyone wants to be in front of the camera, so adding other useful layers to the site is a step in the right direction. Based on the demands of recruiters and job seekers, the employment section may expand further, or partner with other sites, to offer more resources for martial arts professionals.
An estimated 2.6 million adults actively practice martial arts in the US.
Martial Arts Talent is the #1 online resource for martial artists, casting and jobs.
