Helping Others Help Themselves

Pima Medical Institute, 1701 W. 72nd Ave. Suite 130 in Denver has hired Mary Kelly as the Clinical Director of their Physical Therapist Assistant program.

(PRWEB) November 12, 2005 -- Pima Medical Institute, 1701 W. 72nd Ave. Suite 130 in Denver has hired Mary Kelly as the Clinical Director of their Physical Therapist Assistant program. Kelly, who has 24 years of physical therapy experience in both hospital and private clinics, served as an instructor at the Denver campus prior to her promotion to Clinical Director of Physical Therapist Assistant program.

“Mary’s extensive and diverse background in physical therapy is a perfect complement to the exciting program we have at PMI,” said Sue Anderson, campus director for the Denver career college.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Statistics, employment of physical therapist assistants is expected to grow much faster than the average through the year 2012. Physical Therapist Assistants assist Registered Physical Therapists in patient procedures such as: exercise for increasing strength, endurance, coordination and range of motion; electrical stimulation to activate paralyzed muscles; instruction in carrying out everyday activities in the use of assistance devices; and the application of soft tissue mobilization modalities such as: massage; heat; cold; light; water or electricity to relieve pain or improve the condition of the muscle or skin.

PMI is one of the premier medical career colleges in the western United States. The privately owned school provides students with a well-rounded education embracing theoretical classroom studies, as well as on-site training in allied health facilities within the community. This gives the student the opportunity to function in a working environment.

PMI has been serving students since 1972, with campuses in: Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mesa and Tucson, AZ; Chula Vista, CA, Seattle and Renton, WA; Las Vegas, NV; as well as Colorado Springs and Denver. Additional information is available by calling their toll free number, 888-442-5998 or online at http://www.pmi.edu.
