Generous Donations Help Altavasnon USA/Canada Purchase 20 Hospital Beds for the Altavas District Hospital
Twenty hospital beds were purchased by Altavasnon USA/Canada for the Altavas District Hospital due to generous donations of $3,000 by Marian Pador Pavy and $1000 by Aklan Association Eastern USA.
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 14, 2005 -- The purchase of twenty beds for the Altavas District Hospital was the second major project undertaken by Altavasnon USA/Canada. This project could not have been accomplished without the generous gifts made by Marian Pador Pavy and her family and the Aklan Association Eastern USA organization and its President Don Romero.
During Altavasnon USA/Canada's family picnic at the Liberty State Park in Jersey City this past summer, Marian attended with friends and spent the fun day with her townmates and relatives. At the picnic, she pledged to donate money to help the organization purchase the beds. On September of this year, Jun Roxas accepted a $3,000 check from Mrs. Pavy on behalf of Altavasnon USA/Canada. Another donation of $1,000.00 was received from the Aklan Association Eastern USA organization. During his term as President of the association, Don Romero, made the pledge during Altavasnon's Annual Dinner Dance, a fund raising event last November 2004. The check was given to Altavasnon by him earlier this year.
These donations made it possible to purchase the 20 hospital beds for the Altavas District Hospital (formerly known as Altavas Emergency Hospital). In an overseas conversation with Teresita Refol, former Altavasnon USA/Canada Chairman and currently serving as an Altavasnon USA/Canada Advisor, Dr. Kathryne B. Refol, Altavas District Hospital Chief of Staff said, "most of the beds at the hospital are in bad shape and badly need replacement." The purchase included brand new mattresses and was brokered by Z-Way Trading, a Chicago-based company that sells hospital beds in the Philippines. The beds will be delivered door to door from Manila to Altavas.
A heartfelt thanks goes to the generousity of Mrs. Pavy and her family. She is an active member of Altavasnon USA/Canada who resides in South Carolina with her husband Dr. John Pavy, a dentist and their only son, Drew. Marian was president of Ansafsa, the alumni association of Altavas High School.
Altavasnon USA/Canada also extends their sincere thanks for the support and generosity of Aklan Association Eastern USA and its President Don Romero.
