Adacel To Provide Precision Approach Radar Training Systems to United States Air Force

Adacel will supply the Air Force with PAR capability for deployment in all of their 90 existing tower simulator systems in operation throughout the world.

Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) November 13, 2005 -- Adacel, an industry leader in software integration, simulation development, and voice recognition technology, has signed a purchase agreement to provide its Precision Approach Radar (PAR) simulation and training module to the United States Air Force. The agreement is valued at more than $1.6 million (USD).

Under the terms of the agreement, Adacel will supply the Air Force with PAR capability for deployment in all of their 90 existing tower simulator systems (TSS) in operation throughout the world. This new addition to the TSS system serves to further enhance its capability by integrating a voice-controlled module capable of training controllers on all aspects of PAR skills and techniques without the use of pseudo pilots.

Adacel’s PAR simulator supplies the comprehensive set of phraseology necessary to provide control instructions to aircraft conducting various PAR and Airport Surveillance Radar Approaches (ASR). The upgraded TSS system visually displays the radar pattern and the 3-D “out-the-window” screens allow tower and radar trainees to visually see and understand what is happening to the aircraft during landing.

“Adacel is extremely pleased to have been awarded this contract. We appreciate our strong working relationship with the Air Force, and look forward to integrating the PAR capability into their tower simulator systems throughout the world. Our PAR module is a mission-critical training tool that deploying air traffic controllers can use to maintain and develop their skills,” states Fred Sheldon, Adacel’s CEO. “Until now, it was difficult to find a PAR system that could be seamlessly integrated with existing systems. After significant testing and development, we have created a tool that does just that.”

The Adacel PAR simulator will enable USAF air controllers to maintain their proficiency on PAR operations at all USAF locations – stateside and overseas. The PAR skill set is used primarily in contingency settings.

Adacel’s PAR simulator also is available as a standalone system capable of supporting both fixed and mobile deployment environments.
