Flexible and Customizable Anti Spam Protection Now Available to Small and Medium Businesses

Roaring Penguin Software Launches CanIt-SMB to Provide Small and Medium-Sized Organizations a Customizable, Affordable Anti-Spam / Anti-Virus Solution.

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) November 15, 2005 -- the fight against spam is easier for enterprises to win today as Roaring Penguin Software Inc., makers of the acclaimed CanIt-PRO anti-spam solution, announced the release of CanIt-SMB - an anti-spam solution designed specifically for small and medium businesses.

“We've found that all companies, no matter what their user count, have unique e-mail policies and requirements,” explains David Skoll, Roaring Penguin's president and CEO. “Until now, anti-spam tools that have been flexible enough to offer robust per-user filtering options have been either too expensive or too unwieldy for the average business, which is why we've introduced CanIt-SMB.”

Offering per-user or per-group anti-spam settings and quarantines, an intuitive end-user interface, and graphical reporting tools, CanIt-SMB can be tailored to meet diverse technical, corporate policy, or industry-specific e-mail filtering requirements without complex administration. CanIt-SMB also includes setup wizards to simplify initial deployment, access to the Roaring Penguin Training Network (RPTN) spam classification engine, and downloads from the CanIt the Automatic Updates service to provide the most current spam and virus definitions.

“Having a small number of e-mail users shouldn't mean that you have to run a one-size-fits all anti-spam solution,” says Skoll. “Because small companies want to focus on their business – not on fighting spam – our goal was to develop an anti-spam solution that was customizable yet easy to setup and maintain, and one that would fit a small company budget. With CanIt-SMB, small organizations can now enjoy anti spam protection and options previously only available to large enterprises.”

CanIt-SMB is available as a pre-configured plug-and-play appliance or as a 'soft' appliance download. The soft appliance option allows organizations to create their own fully-functioning CanIt anti spam appliance using existing in-house computer hardware or equipment from their preferred hardware supplier.

CanIt-SMB is the industry's most complete and flexible anti-spam and anti-virus solution for small to medium-sized organizations, combining administrative customizability with ease of installation and administration. CanIt-SMB is available in two versions: CanIt-SMB 500 for organizations with 50 to 500 e-mail users, and CanIt-SMB 1000 for organizations with 500-1000 users. A trial version of either CanIt-SMB version can be obtained at http://www.roaringpenguin.com/anti_spam/get_canit_request.php?id=smb.
