About the Author:
Anoop Chandola was born into a priestly Brahmin family in Pauri, a Himalayan town of the Uttaranchal state of India. After earning his MA at the University of California, Berkeley, he received his Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Chicago. After forty years at University of Arizona, he is now Professor Emeritus in East Asian Studies. Mr. Chandola is also a Hindu priest and a frequent guest lecturer.
