Simig Media, Inc. has launched a new record label featuring artists whose music is self written, recorded, and produced. The label has announced its first two musicians and albums.

Simig Media, Inc. today launched a new record label that will publish and distribute records that are recorded and produced by musicians using their own instruments, computers, and software. Simig Media Records will feature artists who not only write and perform their own songs, but also record, mix and produce their albums using their own computers and equipment.

The new record label takes a drastically different approach than major record companies and even other independent record labels. The company intendeds to empower the growing number of musicians who are using programs such as Apple's popular GarageBand to create, record, and mix their own songs using home computers. The company will help artists exploit the increased ease of access to the music distribution market represented by electronic distribution channels such as Apple's iTunes Music Store as well as traditional music distribution outlets.

The first two albums released by the Simig Media label were also announced today. Tobin Mueller's solo piano record, "Morning Whispers," and Peter Greenstone's eclectic folk-rock "Something" are the first two titles available. The first album is now available for immediate ordering directly through Simig Media's website, or through its distribution partners, and the second album will be available in the coming weeks.

About Tobin Mueller

Tobin Mueller is a modern day Renaissance Man, winning awards for playwriting, children's music, web-based art, collaborative cross-genre projects and for his work on global environmental issues (1994 Global 500 UN Roll of Honor). He has written musicals on subjects as wide-ranging as Frankenstein and the Holocaust, a 12-tone ballet incorporating ancient Greek, and symphonies for both orchestra and band. He has been a member of The Dramatists Guild of America (NYC) as a composer, lyricist and playwright since 1996. He founded the online collaborative artist community ArtsForge.com in 1998. This is his first collection of music written for solo piano.

About Peter Greenstone

Peter Greenstone is an outside artist to the music world, having only recently starting to write and produce his own music after years of casual guitar playing and singing for his own pleasure and for friends. With the discovery of what he could do with a simple home studio and digital recording and mixing software Peter was inspired and found an untapped musical ability within himself. For many years he has worked as a visual artist, mainly as an animation/visual effects artist for films and television, but he has never found a more rewarding form of creativity than creating music and lyrics that affect other people on such a personal level. In this, Peter Greenstone has found a unique voice.
