New travel services site offers personalized hotel reviews and journaling tools; first to match travelers’ needs with relevant reviews and advice from people truly like them.

TravelPost.com delivers a set of comprehensive, consistent, and easy-to-use hotel reviews with a unique filtering feature that allows users to segment reviews according to the demographics of the reviewer, including age, gender, purpose of stay, and travel budget. The reviews are integrated with a map-enabled travel journaling community in which travelers are able write about their experiences, post photos from their trips, and keep track of where they’ve been on a world map.

In July 2005, TravelPost.com announced it had raised a seed round of funding totaling more than $1 million. Lead investors include seed stage venture capital fund Amicus Capital, and Arba Seed Investment Group. The funding is going toward infrastructure to handle traffic growth, expanding the team to continue to build the product and feature set, and marketing efforts.
