Cool People Entertainment Takes it To The Street!

Much like independent rap artists, two Atlanta filmmakers and their staff decide to take Hollywood by storm, one street at a time.

ATLANTA (PRWEB) November 16, 2005 -- When husband and wife Corey and Kirsten Ramey decided to produce an independent feature, they had no idea how they would complete, market, and distribute the project.

After a failed investment deal, Corey came up with a story about a single mother from Columbus, Georgia, who was also bi-polar. As a graduate student, studying professional counseling, the story immediately appealed to Person-Ramey, who completed it in a matter of days.

The company, comprised of the Rameys, Kirsten's older sister, casting director Lori Samuels; creative director, Sandra Miller; development assistant, John Malahy; and internet campaign manager Alex Gardener, produced the feature over the summer in the metro Atlanta area and took it to the road at the start of Fall.

"The scariest part was just doing it", states Person-Ramey, who also starred as the troubled woman who had her share of loves in the film. Among them were musician Wesley Cook, and newcomer Jerry Epps, who is the first AD's cousin.

When others were trying to make festival deadlines, the Cool Staff hosted several events and small screenings in which they sold the dvd, which featured original music by Silent Money Produktionz, Kinship Productions, Carmen Rodgers, Buck Johnson, and Person-Ramey herself, who sang two songs in the film.

The company is already preparing to shoot the next project which will tackle racism, sexism, and equality. They are working to secure national distribution for the film, which is available at www.filmbaby.com.
