Showcare President & CEO John Berton today announced that he would hand day-to-day management of the event services company to the current COO, Debbie Baxter, as part of a corporate reshuffling that will allow Berton to focus on long-term strategies.
Berton, who has been President & CEO since joining the company 5 years ago, will retain his post as Chief Executive Officer whilst Baxter, who took on the role of COO in April of 2005, will become President.
In her new role, Debbie Baxter will assume operational management of the company thereby allowing John Berton to better focus on new business development, acquisitions, partnerships and the overall growth of the organization.
"We are positioning the company for the next phase of expansion with these leadership changes," said Kingsley Ward, Chairman of the Board at Showcare. "Debbie brings tremendous energy and expertise to the President’s role and this change will help us drive Showcare to the next level.”
“I look forward to focusing on the growth aspects of the organization as Debbie takes on her new role at Showcare — leading the finest group of sales, marketing and service professionals in the events industry,” John Berton said. “At the same time, I’m excited to begin looking at new strategic opportunities for the organization.”
