Scooop.net, a consumer-generated media site based on democratic voting principles and active participation of its members, just launched to great fanfare and has reached the top 5000 Web sites worldwide according to visitor traffic.

Alexa.com (http://www.alexa.com), which is considered by many to be the gold standard of Web site ranking worldwide, is owned by Amazon.com and tracks the traffic of sites using a toolbar which millions of subscribers have downloaded. Company officials at Scooop.net checked their Alexa ranking at 12 noon on Tuesday, the 15th of November, using the real time “traffic details” feature and were shocked to see they were ranked 4667 worldwide.

“We knew we were getting a huge amount of traffic,” says Bob Cefail, Chairman of InTouch Media Group, which launched Scooop.net, “but to move up that fast in the rankings in 24 hours was a shock. It looks like we better get some more server capacity.”

In Touch Media Group, a leading supplier of online marketing services, created Scooop.net after completing a nationwide market research study, which revealed a huge demand for a new type of media outlet where consumers dictate the site content.

Cefail says the company made the decision to move forward on Scooop.net after successfully developing services designed to harness the power of consumer generated media. “With the rise of blogging across America, corporations have attempted to monetize this dynamic trend,” states Cefail, “but until now controlling or truly benefiting from consumer-generated media has been out of their reach.”

“We can’t believe how many times people are coming back, over and over, to Scooop.net to see how many times their stories are being voted on,” states Cefail enthusiastically. “We have caught lightening in a bottle for sure.”

In Touch Media Group’s CEO, Laura Betterly, adds, “The site sponsored advertisements are done in a tasteful manner like the masters.”

Scooop.net will also get the benefit of all of In Touch Media Group’s tools to drive traffic to it. These tools are aggressive but targeted rather than relying solely on word of mouth or other passive viral techniques used by similar sites.

It should be noted that In Touch Media Group, Inc. recently received the highest possible rating awarded by Google for search engine marketing expertise and it plans to use its entire battery of paid search tools to flood Scooop.net, with an avalanche of Web site traffic. They will also unleash its breakthrough publicity service, aptly named Press Direct, to drive worldwide traffic to the site.

Press Direct involves the production of search engine optimized articles, which are placed in approximately one hundred of the world’s largest article content hubs, to proliferate any story throughout the Internet. This action is then followed by the strategic placement of search engine optimized press releases in media services such as PRWeb.com, in conjunction with the distribution of the release to its own in-house media list of 10,000 contacts. One recent ITMG client gained an estimated 700 media pick-ups in just seven days using Press Direct.

Cefail and Betterly, feel that their company is uniquely qualified to bring this cutting-edge method of channelling consumer-generated media out into the mainstream. “We have a vast array of tools to swamp a Web site with traffic,” said Cefail. “By using Press Direct and search engine marketing we can focus a heavy stream of Web site traffic on any target.”

In Touch Media Group will also incorporate Google’s AdSense revenue model in an unprecedented manner in conjunction with Scooop.
