Atlantic Canadian Folk Music Writer/Producer Mike Allison Begins Recording New Album

Atlantic Canadian recording artist Mike Allison is returning to the studios this week to begin recording his latest album, which will be available in stores across Canada in mid-December. Mike has spent the past five months performing, while writing a group of new tracks which are to be included on the album.

Sackville, New Brunswick (PRWEB) November 17, 2005 -- Atlantic Canadian folk music writer/producer Mike Allison has re-entered the studio this week to begin recording of his third full-length album. Mike has spent the past five months performing in Atlantic Canada, using this time to experiment with new tracks, and making adjustments based on audience feedback.

This album will mark Mike’s third full-length release. Mike is well-known throughout Atlantic Canada and to listeners of campus radio stations across Canada. Mike will also be appearing in a televised CBC mini-series in January of 2006.

Drew Dudley, a Board Member of Fusion Radio at the University of Toronto, proclaims, "I have had the opportunity to review advance recordings of some of Mike's latest works, and they represent some of the most exciting and mature songwriting that he has produced to date. This musician's talent is incredible, and it only continues to improve with each passing album."

Mike’s music career has spanned more than a decade, but notably shifted gears while attending Mount Allison University. It was there that he released his first full-length album, “Union_44,” which garnered critical acclaim on campus radio stations across Canada, and won the hearts of fans everywhere.

After graduating from Mount Allison, Mike completed a Masters Degree in English at Acadia University. It was there that he decided to make a career of performing and writing music, and since then he has never looked back. He has taken his show on the road, and while doing so, he has been involved in everything from being a finalist in the national Canadian Idol competition, to interviews and performances on CBC radio, to capturing thousands of fans through a series of appearances in dinner theatre productions in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

Mike’s album will be released across Canada in December of 2005. Mike has some sample tracks available on his website at www.djbolivia.ca/mikeallison.html

Mike will also be spending the fall & spring producing the next album in the Conduct Becoming series, a set of compilations produced to promote awareness and raise funds for research in the fight against cancer. This project has touched the hearts of thousands of cancer survivors and their families, and has involved hundreds of performers over the past five years. More information is available from the Conduct Becoming website at www.conductbecoming.ca

Mike would be pleased to provide media interviews to interested parties, both regarding his latest album, and as a spokesperson for the Conduct Becoming project. For more information, or to request an interview, please contact Jonathan Clark at the Thirteen Towers Recording Studio, at 506-536-3280.
