'Santa and Sons & Daughter!' Appearing at STARZ! Denver International Film Festival; and Showcasing New Products Online
The family Christmas musical "Santa and Sons & daughter!" will be showing at the STARZ! Denver International Film Festival on November 20; and the producers unveil their new movie merchandise and manufacturing partners.
(PRWEB) November 16, 2005 -- Calexas, the producer of "Santa and Sons & daughter!" is more than a little excited to confirm that its holiday feature will be shown at the STARZ! Denver International Festival on Sunday, November 20 from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm at the Starz Film Center, House 2 by special arrangement with the KIDSFIRST! Film-Video Festival. "This marks the third festival appearance for our rockin' Santa Family musical and it reaffirms the company's view that we've created something special," says Director and President, Robert Battaile. "We've also received an Award of Excellence from Creative Child Magazine; and been approved to use the KIDSFIRST! and the Dove Foundation's seals for family programming."
KIDSFIRST! is part of the Coalition for Quality Children's Media; and the Dove Foundation's mission is to encourage and promote the creation, production, distribution and consumption of wholesome family entertainment (www.dove.org).
The festival will present 175 films over ten days with plenty of special events and tributes. For tickets and more info, visit www.denverfilm.org .
"Santa and Sons & daughter!" is also excited that the "publishing on demand" world is becoming a reality. "I call it 'the day the studios feared,' says Battaile. "Actually, it's all the bricks-and-mortar retailers that are running skeered."
The company has set up a team of manufacturers that can produce and ship products out within the two-day time frame that major e-tailers such as amazon.com require. "Considering the intensity of the short selling season, we needed to find companies that can produce thousands of copies a day when the demand hits." (And, since all the elves were otherwise occupied...)
DVD's will be produced by customFlix (www.customflix.com/207785) while our audio cd's are from swiftCD (https://www.plimus.com/jsp/buynow.jsp?contractId=1652709).
"We've also created some fun designs for t-shirts, coffee mugs, mouse pads, and of course Christmas ornaments." Also, toddler and infant products. Items echo the movie's unique characters, their foibles and their strengths. Some feature warm and fuzzy holiday themes while others offer the villainous Snavely Claws' wish to turn Santa's Reindeer into "deer kabobs and antler soup."
The merchandise is available at www.cafepress.com/santamoviestore . There are a variety of products, sizes and colors all of which will be produced and shipped within two days. The site is offering free shipping until Dec. 6 on orders over $50.
"Shortly, we'll have our digital downloads for both audio songs and even the full-length movie available online," adds the Director. "The digital audio distributor is cdbaby who will have us online with iTunes, netMusic and a host of others within a few days." The "Santa and Sons & daughter!" website will also provide digital songs with the help of netMusic. "Until our system's fully ready, we're letting people have free music downloads for the next few days. Merry Christmases!"
Speaking of cutting edge, Calexas has arranged with www.iWave.tv to provide video downloads beginning in early December. "iWave has an ambitious program and sophisticated software that is launching shortly. I'm hoping we can provide some real challenges by bringing thousands of viewers to their site."
IPTV or internet tv is the next huge viewing phenomenon that will shake the industry.
"Basically, we have everything in place. If we can strike a spark in the national media... we can be a big hit." The Director might be a bit prejudiced. "I think the film turned out great and the songs are fantastic. If people get the word, Santa, wife Sara and the kids Nicholas, Klaus and Sandy Claus will be all the rage."
Since fully half the annual retail dollar is spent during the holiday season, Battaile might not be far off.
