Vienna, VA (PRWEB) November 16, 2005 -- Blueprint Technologies, Inc., an enterprise modernization firm, today announced that Norman Lorentz has been appointed its Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Lorentz brings more than 30 years of public sector and commercial technology management expertise to Blueprint, and will play an instrumental role in helping the company plan for its next phase of growth in response to increasing market demand for EA solutions at both the federal and commercial level.

In 2002, Lorentz was appointed by the President of the United States as the first Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the federal government under the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). As CTO for OMB, Lorentz directed the development of the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA), which enables government-wide collaboration to reduce redundancies, maximize IT investments, and enhance performance. Lorentz spent six years at the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), where he held several positions including Senior Vice President, CTO, and Chief Quality Officer. While CTO of USPS, he applied the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award criteria to help transform the agency’s IT infrastructure. Mr. Lorentz then went on to serve as the Senior Vice President for (DigitalNet) BAE Systems, and was responsible for the $60 Million of products and services sold to the federal departments of Homeland Security, Treasury, and State, as well as to state and local governments. Most recently, Lorenz worked as the CEO of Federal Solutions Group (FSG). At FSG, he successfully marketed numerous emerging technology solutions at the federal level. Lorentz also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Software Productivity Consortium, now the Systems and Software Consortium, Inc. (SSCI).

“A true enterprise architecture pioneer, Norman Lorentz will enable Blueprint Technologies to strategically build on our successful enterprise modernization practice to help our customers further transform their organizations in new and innovative ways,” stated Jeanne O’Kelley, President and CEO of Blueprint Technologies. “We are extremely excited to welcome Norm to our team and look forward to the opportunity to leverage his proven industry experience and vision.”

“My career has been shaped by the ability to help organizations transform themselves through the strategic application of technology,” stated Norman Lorentz, CTO of Blueprint Technologies. “Joining Blueprint Technologies gives me the opportunity to leverage what I consider the most important aspect of this – enterprise modernization – which empowers our customers to not only reduce redundancies and streamline processes, but creates line of site from technology investment/innovation to the measurable improvement of mission performance.”
