VBT Bicycling Vacations has announced the addition of two new tours to its line up of 2006 vacations: Journey Through Vietnam and Puglia: Italy's Undiscovered Coast. The company’s full line of deluxe bicycling vacations includes 20 tours throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia & the Pacific.

Puglia is located on the “heel of Italy’s boot”, and features dazzling blue seas, white-sand beaches, charming fishing villages and lush landscapes. “Italy is our most popular destination,” states Gregg Marston, VBT President. “We knew we needed a new Italy tour to meet the demand of our travelers. The manager of our regional office, Ms. Torre, chose Puglia for its authenticity, beautiful coastline and easy cycling. She believes it will be as popular as Tuscany. It is a great destination for both first-time visitors to the country and return travelers.”

Puglia included excursions consist of lunch with a local family, visits to a local cheese maker and olive oil mill, walking tour of Otranto, and visit to the prehistoric Cervi Grottoes. Puglia: Italy's Undiscovered Coast is available with an air package or as a land only package. Prices start at only $2495 for 10 days, including roundtrip international airfare. If you prefer to make your own air arrangements, the tour starts at only $1895 for 7 days. Both tour package options include accommodations in 4- and 5-star hotels, free use of VBT’s custom-designed bicycles, most meals, service of two bilingual VBT Trip Leaders, full van support, sightseeing and cultural activities, and most transfers. This trip offers the option of adding-on independent trip extensions. Add-on 2 nights pre-trip in Matera for $295, including accommodations at Hotel Sant’Angelo, daily breakfast and transfers. After your Puglia vacation, you can add-on 3 nights post-trip in Rome for only $495, including 3 nights accommodations, daily breakfast, and transfers.

VBT’s new Journey through Vietnam tour begins in Hanoi and continues through Hue, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Saigon and the Mekong Delta. Travelers enjoy included excursions such as a visit to a local school and orphanage, a water puppet performance, tour of the Forbidden Purple City and the Imperial City, walking tour of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visit to the famous Cu Chi tunnel, dinner with a local family, and boat ride to a floating market. “Our travelers are continually asking for bicycling vacations they can take during the winter. Vietnam was an easy warm winter choice because it is a very popular travel destination, very affordable and breathtakingly beautiful,” explains Gregg Marston. “And the cycling is spectacular!”

Journey through Vietnam is available with airfare and as a land-only package. Prices start at only $2795 for 15 days, including roundtrip international airfare. If you prefer to make your own air arrangements, this tour starts at only $2445 for 14 days. Both packages include accommodations at 4- and 5-star hotels, most meals, free use of our Cannondale bicycles, service of a VBT Trip Leader and local cycling guide, full van support, sightseeing and cultural activities, and transfers. The Vietnam tour offers the option of trip extensions. Add-on 3 nights pre-trip in Bangkok for $295, including accommodations at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel, daily breakfast, city tour including entrance to the Grand Palace, and transfers. After your Vietnam tour, add-on 4 nights in Cambodia for $595. The Cambodia post-trip includes 3 nights at the Sofitel Royal Angkor Resort & Spa and 1 night at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel, daily breakfasts, a 2-day Angkor Wat Temple pass and guided tours, and a boat ride on the Ton Le Sap Lake to see the floating village of Chon Kneas.
