Workplace Affairs Often Begin During The Holiday Office Party

The typical office Christmas party is when many extramaratial affairs begin.

Detroit, Michigan (PRWEB) November 18, 2005 -- According to many of the latest statistics, the workplace has become the single greatest place for married people who engage in infidelity to meet the “other person”. Among all of the opportunities that may exist for a spouse to go astray with a co-worker, the office holiday party is when it happens most often.

As women make advances everywhere in society, the old cliché about the boss and the young secretary carrying on an affair has been pushed aside by an increase in the number of men and women who work together as equals becoming romantically involved. In the past there was a defined separation of the sexes within the workplace. Now there are no boundaries to interactions between men and women. This unavoidable closeness can lead to friendship and unfortunately, much more!

With the Holidays upon us, many businesses hold some form of holiday party and nearly all of them involve drinking. Everyone is in good moods and as people loosen up and let go of their normal inhibitions. That makes these holiday parties one of the prime times for co-workers who are cheating end up getting together. More disturbing is the number of spouses who may only be attracted to a co-worker but thus far have not acted upon those feelings, who end up flirting and ultimately having sex in their drunken state. The November issue of Men’s Health magazine (December 2005 –Wary Christmas) reports that 44% of males polled indicate that they have hooked up with a co-worker at a holiday office party at some point in their life.

Brad Erickson, a private detective with Advanced Surveillance Group stated: “If you have a suspicion that your spouse is having an affair with a co-worker or is overly interested in someone at work, we highly recommend that you have him or her watched during the company holiday party. This is one of the best opportunities you will get to learn the truth. People drink too much and act out on their emotions. We have nearly countless cases where we have followed a husband or wife from a Christmas party to a motel, back to their empty office or we film them going at it in a car in some parking lot.”

As a good example, Advanced Surveillance Group had the opportunity to work with a client named Barbara from Grosse Pointe, Michigan who is willing to share some of her case. She reports, “I hired (A.S.G.) to watch my husband at a Christmas function in December of 2004. This party was held in a private room at a restaurant. Their investigator was able to watch (my spouse) drinking and hitting on a sales woman from his office who I suspected he was interested in. After the party ended, he and several of his associates stayed at the bar in the restaurant and drank more. (A.S.G.’s) private investigator watched as my husband and this woman went into the men’s room together. The investigator followed them in the bathroom and overheard them having sex in a stall. He waited until they were done and he used some kind of hidden camera to film them coming out of the stall, putting their clothes on and laughing right in front of the private investigator. They really got me the video I needed.”
