Mystic Orient …Exquisite Handmade, Soaps, Lotions, and Spa Products
President Judy McDonough developed the concept behind Mystic Orient in 2002 while patiently waiting to adopt a daughter. Hoping to pass the time, she created handmade lotions, soaps, and spa products. Through her inspiration of becoming a mother and her sincere health concerns for daughter’s skin condition, Mystic Orient was launched in April 2005.
Braintree, MA (PRWEB) November 19, 2005 -- Started as a cure to alleviate her daughter’s very dry skin condition known as eczema, Judy McDonough developed Mystic Orient. Her first creations were several bath bombs she threw into her daughter’s tub. Immediately after, her baby’s skin was soft and smooth.
The name, Mystic Orient, is a reflection of her adopted daughter’s heritage. McDonough wanted to incorporate something Asian in the business name as well as the products. For example, the logo on The Little Lucy Lip Silk product is an abstract little Chinese girl. The girl, of course, resembles her daughter, Lucy.
“At restaurants Lucy would ask me to draw a picture of her with crayons and that is the image I would always show her. When I developed the logo, the first thing Lucy said is, ‘That’s me!’ It gives her a sense of pride, even for a 2-year-old,” says Mystic Orient President McDonough.
Started as a hobby and later used as a solution for her daughter skin condition, Mystic Orient is more than a business and its lotion, soaps, and spa products; it is an experience with a history and a woman that truly believes in her products.
“I try each and every one of my products before I put them on the market. I want my customers to understand that if I don’t like it, then I won’t sell it,” says McDonough.
This success led McDonough to create a silky smooth lip balm called Little Lucy Lip Silk. Since the winters in New England meant very dry chapped lips, she did not want to buy any generic brands. Instead, she took it upon herself to develop a chap stick that made lips soft, smooth and taste great too.
McDonough’s creativity did not stop at bath bombs and lip balm- she has created a plethora of other lotions, soaps and spa products to help her daughter with her dry skin condition.
- “Luxury Lotion Bar.” This lotion is in a solid form inside a push-up tube. It also comes in travel size so it is great on the go. The bar can be tossed in into your purse or gym bag and there won’t be any leaking or “blowing up” in your bag.
- “Cotton Candy.” Cotton Candy whipped bath soap, is a whipped soap that looks and smells just like cotton candy. Cotton Candy contains micro-Jojoba Beads and real sugar to gently exfoliate the skin while leaving it deliciously moisturized.
- “Bathtub Fizzles.” These fizzles are for the bathtub junkies. Just sprinkle a little in the tub and watch them fizzle and sizzle. Her daughter got a kick out of it and the Epson Salts and Sunflower Oil leaves the skin soft and smooth.
- “Sunny Oil”. This oil comes in a 2 oz. amber spray bottle with a vanilla and coconut scent that leaves your skin soft and fragrant.
McDonough is continually creating additional products for Mystic Orient. Due to be released in time for the holidays is “Silk and Satin Body Lotion”. This lotion goes on thick but is quickly absorbed leaving the skin feeling as smooth and soft as silk. The initial release will include two delicious scents: Chocolate Milk and Sugar Cookies.
