Twenty three years ago, Rene Godefroy was a broke Haitian immigrant unable to speak English washing cars on the streets of Miami for meager pay. Now, he is an award-winning author and one of the most inspiring motivational speakers in America. Among his client list are: AT&T, Bell South, Coca Cola and the US Military.

When Godefroy arrived in America, he had $5, two shirts and one pair of pants. His biggest challenge was to learn a few English words in order to get by. With sheer determination and bull-dog tenacity, Godefroy went on to become a success.

“I have Americans to thank for my success. Yes, I am a determined man and I don’t take no for an answer. But I don’t think I could have achieved the kind of success I am enjoying today anywhere else in the world…Only in America!” said Godefroy, with a deep sense of gratitude.

Godefroy’s book “Kick Your Excuses Goodbye” is scheduled to be released in January. Meanwhile, as a keynote speaker, he travels the lengths of this great country challenging Americans to kick their excuses goodbye and embrace their dreams.

“This is the land of plenty. Opportunities abound. We have so much to be thankful for. As we celebrate this Thanksgiving, I challenge Americans to look at their available resources and do something with them instead of complaining.” Godefroy told an audience in Smyrna, GA where he now resides and also where November 17th is dedicated as Rene Godefroy Day.

Godefroy says he now stops telling people that he is a motivational speaker. He sees himself as a transformational speaker. So many lives are being transformed as a result of his hard-hitting message. When he was a disease-stricken child in an impoverished village in Haiti, he was fascinated with how the roosters would crow and wake up his entire village every morning without fail. Now he wants to crow in villages across America and wake up Americans—particularly during this Thanksgiving season.
