Montreal (PRWEB) November 23, 2005 -- Montreal musician Jade Leary's new album Fossildawn is being made available as podcast-safe and DRM-free Digital Pack format, providing high-resolution art and other extras to the traditional download. Digital packs are value-added downloads that include:

- Full album in 160kbps VBR AAC or LAME MP3 audio.
- High resolution printable cover art.
- 2 printable t-shirt designs in black or white.
- PDF digital booklet featuring album art and lyrics.

The production of this album was the basis for the LetterXPodcast, an ongoing podcast featured on Apple's Quicktime web site and available through the iTunes Music Store.
The album was produced entirely using Propellerhead's Reason and Apple's Logic Pro 7 digital workstation.

This is Jade Leary's fourth release. Previous albums are now also available as Digital Packs.

Jade Leary is a fiercely independent artist from Montreal. A musician from a very young age, he evolved from the underground scene of the late 80s. He has played with renowned avant-rock musicians Bernard Falaise and Remi Leclerc (Miriodor, Klaxon Gueule, Papa Boa) in various projects.

In 2002, well before the current wave of digital downloads, he initiated a project called FairPlay - a distribution model for the new millennium that urged musicians to take matters in their own hands and distribute their music as digital files under a shareware type license.

Although the project has since folded he continues to believe in its underlying principles, which are now present in projects like Magnatune and Gabriel/Eno's MUDDA, says Jade, "when various individuals, from different parts of the world, from diverse backgrounds get the same idea pretty much at the same time, it means this idea's time has come. This is a revolution. We're not going back."
