America's Favorite Ice Skating Sleuth, Bex Levy Returns to Catch Cold-Blooded Murderer in "Axel of Evil"
Will her unorthodox and sometimes unethical methods solve the case or kick off the Cold War all over again?
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 23, 2005 -- ”Murdered!” screamed the headlines. Igor Marchenko, a skating Champion and world-renowned coach who first made news twenty-five years earlier for his defection to America during the height of the US-USSR Cold War, lay dead in a Moscow skating rink. Now Bex Levy, researcher for the 24/7 sports network, has been ordered by her boss to help solve the crime on live television. She’s gotten lucky twice before…can she do it again in front of the entire world?”
So begins "Axel of Evil," the third novel in the Figure Skating Mystery series from writer Alina Adams, which is scheduled for a January 2006 release from Berkley. Adams has created the first and only mystery series of its kind, set in the world of competitive figure skating, and it holds particular appeal leading up to the Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy this February.
Skating expert Adams has drawn from her own extensive knowledge of this beloved sport. She has incorporated the real-life stories behind the competition and drama, both on and off the ice, to create what critics have called a “must-read” series. A former researcher for ABC, NBC, TNT and ESPN, Adams is also the author of "Sarah Hughes: Skating to the Stars" and the coffee table book "Inside Figure Skating." The first two novels in the series are "Murder on Ice" (Berkley, 2003) and "On Thin Ice" (Berkley, 2004).
Born in the Soviet Union and raised in San Francisco, Alina Adams sold her first novel when she was just 23. Successful mystery writer, contributing editor to a national ice skating magazine, and producer for two soap opera websites, Adams is both versatile and prolific, working across a variety of genres with a unique voice and trademark wit.
