Vocus, Inc. Earns Honorable Mention in Washingtonian Magazine’s “Great Places to Work”

Vocus, Inc., a leading provider of on-demand software for corporate communications and public relations today announced it has received an honorable mention as one of the 55 “Great Places to Work” as compiled by Washingtonian magazine.

Lanham, MD (PRWEB) November 23, 2005 –- Vocus, Inc., a leading provider of on-demand software for corporate communications and public relations today announced it has received an honorable mention as one of the 55 “Great Places to Work” as compiled by Washingtonian magazine. The publication's list of the best places to work in the Washington, DC metropolitan area appears in the November 2005 issue.

“I am excited that Vocus has been placed among the Washington area's best places to work,” said Rick Rudman, President and CEO of Vocus, Inc. “This recognition is a reflection of our corporate priorities: take great care of our customers, our employees, and our neighbors in the community.”

The magazine cited the company’s “It’s Not All About You” program, which organizes volunteer and community service activities for employees, and its counterpart ”It’s All About You”, which regularly sponsors activities to reward employees and encourage camaraderie, as main factors in the decision. The article stated, “The idea that “it’s not all about you” starts at the top. When the firm was running out of office space, the CEO and CFO gave up their large offices to save the indoor basketball court.”

The list is based on responses to a questionnaire that was sent to more than 225 area companies, nonprofit organizations and government agencies in the Washington metropolitan area. Among the factors considered by the magazine's editors were interesting and challenging work, good pay and benefits, collegial staff, stability, and employee development.
