(PRWEB) November 24, 2005 -- When I was presented with the opportunity to review the new Left Behind move A World At War I jumped at the chance. I had watched the first one a few years ago, and was so disappointed at the poor quality of the film that I never bought #2 when it came out three years ago. That said I set down and watched, with an open mind and eagerly watched this one based on the 2nd half of the book Tribulation (which is book #2 in the best selling Left Behind Series).
I was actually quite surprised the acting was first rate. The filmotography was excellent. It was actually better many times over from the first film. World At War picks up 18 months after the first sequel closed. I think one of the best action scenes was Nicholae (Gordon Currie) using his mind picks up U. S. President Fitzhugh (Louis Gossett Jr.) and throws him out the top floor window of the U. N. After Fitzhugh lands on the top of a car, he picks himself up and walks away, and Nicholae whom the Christians in the movie believe to be the anti-christ says, "thats not humanly possible," (looking skyward) he continues (with disgust), "is it?"
The best presentation of the gospel was by International Journalist Buck Williams (Kirk Cameron). Even though the film is Christian themed and presents tid bits of the scripture, I don't believe the film would be effective as an evangelistic tool, instead I think it would create more confusion and questions.
Still though I would encourage everyone to get the DVD and watch it. It truly is the best Left Behind film to date and that was probably because of the violence. I know many Christians that dislike violence in their movies, but given the subject, I find it was very much appropriate. This film contained no profanity, sex or nudity.
and that's the way I see it! and now for your thoughts...
Rating: 4-1/2 stars
