Mick Jones Plays at Memorial Show for Former BAD II Guitarist Nick Hawkins

Mick Jones along with the remaining members of BAD II performed a memorial show at the Inn on the Green in Ladbroke Grove, for their former guitarist Nick Hawkins. The Nah Nahs, made up of many musicians that played along side Nick in his early years also performed, joined by Nick's wife, singer Jo Beng. Don Letts amongst many others attended the performance. A CD that Nick was working on at the time of his passing, has been completed by his wife, and will be available on November 25th at http://www.nickhawkinsmusic.com

The Inn on the Green was the venue for the memorial show that took place 22nd November, in honor of former Big Audio Dynamite II guitarist, Nick Hawkins, who passed away last month in his Las Vegas home at the age of 40.

Mick Jones as well as Gary Stonedge, Chris Cavanaugh, and Andre Shnapps performed from the original line up. They honored Nick by performing a few songs he had co-written with Mick Jones from previous BAD II albums. Their performance was concluded by a rendition of the Beatles 'Come Together' joined by Jo Beng, Mick Palants, host of the evening and musicians from the Nah Nahs. The "Nah Nahs" also performed, made up primarily of musicians Nick played with as a youth, including his brother Mark Hawkins.

As a member of BAD II, Nick was a recipient of a BillBoard Award in 1991. After leaving the band, Nick went on to write and produce music for both film and TV. At the time of his passing, Nick was working on an album with his band 'Dusk til Dawn'. Nick's wife, singer, songwriter, Jo Beng has completed his works.
