Thanksgiving Tribute: Search Announced for Photos of Fallen Military Heroes in Iraq

New ad to pay tribute to our heroes, encourages resolve.

“We wanted to say thanks to our service men and women, not just for being there, but specifically for fighting this war against terrorists. And not only do we appreciate them, but their families as well,” said Chris Myers, founder of the site.

The ad presents the respect so many Americans have for our fighting forces, and includes a stark reminder of what we’re up against, and a morale booster to honor the cause of fighting terrorism.

“This war is easy for the American public to disconnect from because it isn’t going on around us, it isn’t interrupting our lives. It’s easy from a distance to get the feeling it isn’t significant, and that’s the lesson we should have learned from 9-11: we can’t allow our priorities to shift away from threats just because they aren’t right in front of our eyes,” Myers said regarding the purpose of the ad. “We know we’ve been successfully distracted from the important issue of national security when some of our elected leaders publicly try to sabotage America’s will to confront those threats just to gain political points with anti-war extremists.”

“We hear about our brave American service men and women making the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq, and we ask ourselves is it worth the cost?
“We think of them fighting, with their lives at stake, and we understand it is a war.
“We’d like to present 10 seconds of silence, to say thank you to those in our armed forces, and their families, for the stand they allow this country to take, against an unimaginable religious mindset that justifies killing any American, Christian, Jew, or other Muslims—men, women, and children too.
“Thank you.”

We honor the men and women in our armed forces for making it possible to take the fight to them.”
