New York City, NY (PRWEB) November 28, 2005
Commissure Inc. announced today the signing of an exclusive technology license agreement with Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
Commissure, a leading medical communications and documentation solution provider has entered into agreement with MGH to license both Lexicon Mediated Entropy Reduction (LEXIMER) and Radiology Order Entry (ROE) technology.
"The license agreement will allow us to expand upon our clinical solution products," said Michael Mardini, President and CEO, Commissure Inc. "We see these technologies as a strong differentiator in the marketplace."
LEXIMER, invented by Dr. Keith J. Dreyer, Vice-Chairman of Radiology – Informatics, MGH, is an advanced engine used to automatically classify unstructured radiology reports through the use of Natural Language Processing. Moreover, this technology allows for identification of patterns associated with findings and recommendations as well as a number of other data mining capabilities.
Commissure will utilize this technology to provide superior quality assurance through its RadWhere™ Suite application to individual healthcare facilities. In addition to LEXIMER technology, the appropriateness criteria and decision support rules of ROE will bring a host of new features to Commissure’s current RadPort™ Suite application.
"Healthcare organizations can take advantage of decision support rules that will significantly increase the power of their existing CPOE," Mardini said. “We see a tremendous demand in the healthcare sector for ways to monitor and control medical imaging utilization.”
Commissure will be launching their new solutions at this years Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference in Chicago Nov. 27 – Dec. 1. Visit booth #6925 at the show or go to http://www.commissure.com for more information.
