Southern Women’s Leadership Development Institute Presents the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Birth of the Modern Civil Rights Movement

Southern Women’s Leadership Development Institute in partnership with: The Honorable John Lewis (D, GA) Martin Luther King III, Metro Montgomery NAACP, 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Birth of the Modern Civil Rights Movement National Civil Rights Leaders, Members of Congress and Pioneer Grassroots Activists that played a part in this History that changed American History will gather to remember those People& Events changed America. The Montgomery Bus Boycott March Celebration will retrace the places in Montgomery where the birth the Civil Right Movement and background events took shape. Featured Speakers for the Day: The Honorable John Lewis (D,GA),Martin Luther King III, Senator Barak Obama, The Reverend Jesse Jackson, Former Mayor & UN Abassador Andrew Young

Jay Wolf,Keynote Address: Rev. Otis Moss, III. Call to Action: Martin Luther King, III The Reverend Jesse Jackson, Former Mayor & UN Ambassador Andrew Young.
A Luncheon at 12 Noon-2 p.m.: Keynote Addres speaker Senator Barack Obama.THE MARCH OF REMEMBRANCE ROUTE-3:00-5:30 p.m.
Candlelight Vigil - Final stop. All marchers combine 5:00 - 5:30p.m. the time of Rosa Parks’s arrest Rosa Parks Museum, 252 Montgomery Street, and The Civil Rights Activists Family Reunion & Birthday Bash.
