Juvenile Justice Fund Jump Starts Child Sexual Exploitation Campaign with Public Awareness Efforts
The Juvenile Justice Fund facilitates the development of resources that will provide comprehensive services to improve the lives and strengthen the families and youth served by the Fulton County Juvenile Court.
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) November 27, 2005 -- If you are tuned in to WSB-2 during the late morning or early afternoon hours these days, you may have seen the Juvenile Justice Fund’s Public Service Announcement addressing the issue. Created by Women in Film Atlanta, this 30-second presentation makes clear that the child victims of sexual exploitation could be anyone’s children. And equally important, it also makes the point that those who prey on children could be anyone in your neighborhood. If you have not seen the PSA, you may view it at the Women in Film Atlanta website: http://www.wifa.org/current_psa.html
On November 15th, in partnership with United Way of Metro Atlanta and the Office of Juvenile Justice Demonstration Project, the Fund hosted a meeting of national, state and local organizations addressing Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC). Education and awareness activities and trainings through the Fund’s CEASE (Center to End Adolescent Sexual Exploitation) program continue around the state.
In January 2006, the Fund will host a Human Service Providers Summit dealing with prevention, intervention and rehabilitation on behalf of youth who are at risk of becoming or are already victims of sexual exploitation.
The Juvenile Justice Fund is committed to increasing community awareness and intolerance of the commercial sexual exploitation of our children. With the help of community leaders and organizations, we will continue advocacy and education activities to eradicate this injustice. For more information about the Fund and future activities, contact Cathey Steinberg, Executive Director, 404-224-4415 or visit the Web site at: www.juvenilejusticefund.org.
