It was quite the day for online poker and celebrity games. If you had the chance to be on CelebPoker.com last Tuesday then you were no doubt in the midst of name changes and play of all types. During the course of this years American Music Awards in LA the poker tables were full of Hollywood’s hottest stars.

During the course of this years American Music Awards in LA the poker tables were full of Hollywood’s hottest stars.

The online side of poker saw bluffs and raises from Backstreet Boys Nick Carter. When asked about playing a few hands Nick responded with “how about now.” On hand number one Nick posted the big blind and was dealt a modest J 10 suited. Without a raise Nick checked and saw an open ended straight come on the flop. Glancing up he responded with a confident, “raise it.” Two checks and it was time for action. Raising to $30 on the open-ended Nick received one fold and one call. The next card out was a miss, the 2 of clubs and there again was a check. Now going against most tight poker play Nick quickly strung out another $30 bet. With the pot odds right the player to left decided to call it. Now with the action pressed the river was kind. The King landed with a boom and Nick was all-in immediately. The result was surprising and just the wild games on CelebPoker.com Nick landed the pot with a straight beating the all-in two pair to the next opponent. A couple high fives and laughing and Nick was on his way to building a nice streak of wins.

On a side note all the Backstreet Boys were kind enough to autograph a beautiful poker chip set for children’s charity complements of CelebPoker.com

Now on the flipside we saw a celebrity bad beat at the hands of drummer Ringo, Los Lonely Boys. After performing a smash hit single onstage with rock icon Carlos Santana the “boys” were in high spirits and ready to deal. Ringo went in on the small blind and was dealt an 3 8 suited hand. There was a small raise and a host of callers, including Ringo. Now when flop came with a 8 sitting middle high there was calls all the way to river, Ringo included. There turns out to be no bluff here, the Turn card being a queen gave the next player over 2 pair, eights and queens.

Not to be discouraged, Ringo nabbed himself a CelebPoker CD and shirt and vowed to be back to reclaim his game!

On the table side there was an all out battle from Country icons Rascal Flats. All the guys in the band were poker players and the dealing was done right there on the felt of CelebPoker.com Action was intense and play was quick but at the end of the game each member received some bragging right and complementary CelebPoker caps and shirts.

Midwest rock band All-American Rejects were next in line to see who would come away best player. Action started off slow but in a few hands 3 of the Rejects were all in and pot committed. To see the river with a smile lead man Tyson collected a monster straight flush and was up to enjoy the success. With backwards CelebPoker.com caps the guys were up to name calling a laughing along with the CelebPoker crew. This was truly a great night of poker, music and all out wildness at the American Music Awards 05.
