Study Options Launches First Brochure About Australian and New Zealand Education Opportunities

Study in Australia and New Zealand brochure sent to every secondary school, college and university in the UK and Ireland.

(PRWEB) November 30, 2005 -- Study Options, the largest education agency in the UK for students interested in educational opportunities in Australia and New Zealand, has launched the first ever publication designed to show British and Irish students the education options that are open to them on the other side of the world.

The brochure, Study in Australia and New Zealand 2006, is being sent to every secondary school, college and university in the UK and Ireland and is intended to be an invaluable reference for career libraries and advisors. Study Options anticipates that the brochure will play a major role in raising awareness of the incredible opportunities available in Australian and New Zealand among British and Irish students and their families.

The number of British and Irish students opting to study in Australasia is growing year on year. As Stefan Watts, Founder of Study Options, explained, there are a number of reasons for this:

‘Australasian institutions have a very strong academic reputation. In the recently published ‘World’s Top 200 Universities’ there were 13 UK institutions ranked in the top 100, there were also 13 institutions from Australia and New Zealand in the top 100, the University of Melbourne being the highest ranking institution at number 19 in the world.

The introduction of top-up fees in the UK has made the overall cost of studying overseas more comparable to that of studying at a university in the UK and we believe that students will now be considering all options available to them not only in their own country but also overseas. There is also the considerable attraction of the opportunity of combining a quality education with seeing the world.

Finally, in the competitive employment market students are increasingly needing to look at how their investment in tertiary education will be best spent, for example is a student better off studying Marine Biology in the North Sea or in the Great Barrier Reef; is a student better off studying Physical Geography in the UK or in New Zealand?’

Notes to editors:

Study Options is a free advice and guidance service for students looking to study an undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree, vocational programme, short course or internship in Australia or New Zealand. It helps students through the whole application process – from choosing a course and where best to study it right through to the paperwork involved in an application and advice on how to apply for a student visa.
