HoneyLuna Celebrates Its 10 Year Anniversary Making Honeymoons Memorable

HoneyLuna has successfully offered and pioneered "gift of travel bridal registries" for 10 years. Bridal travel registries allow wedding couples to register for items and activities of their honeymoon rather than housewares.

And they said it couldn’t be done…. Fast-growing HoneyLuna, The Honeymoon Registry Service, celebrates 10 years of service offering bridal registries for honeymoons through its site, http://www.HoneyLuna.com.

“When we launched HoneyLuna 10 years ago, people had never heard of honeymoon registries. I felt like a pioneer bringing a new concept to the world.” Nancy Williams, CEO and founder said. “It was a challenge early on because it was a completely new concept. But I knew from creating my own honeymoon registry that this was a great idea that would catch on. Now we are celebrating 10 years in business”.

Couples using HoneyLuna’s service register the items and romantic activities of their honeymoon as wedding gifts. Wedding guests select and purchase from an array of items, for example, a day of snorkeling, a sunset dinner cruise, kayaking, hot-air ballooning, and airfare contributions. Couples can even add in special items such as cooking classes, contributions to SCUBA certifications, or digital cameras to capture their honeymoon registries. Wedding guests seem to enjoy living vicariously through their friends’ honeymoon registries, rather than gift wrapping them a turkey baster or a sugar bowl.

HoneyLuna has experienced tremendous growth each year as more couples are discovering HoneyLuna and learning about their honeymoon registry. With this significant growth, the company found the need to offer two products in its honeymoon registry line and launched a second honeymoon registry service in January, 2005. HoneyLuna continues to offer its “original” Full Service Honeymoon Registry where, for a fee, HoneyLuna creates the honeymoon registry for the bride and groom. The new service is “free to the bride and groom” option where the couple uses HoneyLuna’s registry technology to create their own honeymoon registry. Says Williams, “Our new self service registry will contribute to another successful 10 plus years for HoneyLuna. It has opened the door to the next generation of couples who not only seek alternatives to traditional registries, but are more computer savvy than ever.”

HoneyLuna now offers more than 450 “location templates” for couples to use to create their honeymoon registry, including common destinations like Maui or Cancun, and more off the beaten path destinations like the Galapagos, Tasmania, or Nepal.

When asked why she thought HoneyLuna has become so successful, Williams said “HoneyLuna’s unique service meets the needs of a large segment of the population; bridal couples who seek non-traditional wedding gifts. Whether a couple is on a second marriage or are young first timers, many of them don’t want or need the traditional wedding gifts of china or toasters. Our service provides these couples with a unique option. We help make their wedding memorable with a very special gift—their honeymoon.”
