Venue Services Group Expands Capability

National system integration firm provides mobile units to NMT, fixed facilities to NBC and NESN, and staff operations and technical support for the United Nations

New Jersey (PRWEB) November 30, 2005

Venue Services Group, Inc. (VSG) has expanded its systems integration capabilities to complete design and construction of mobile production vehicles, fixed facilities and operations and engineering services, with clients such as NMT, NBC, NESN and the United Nations.

This year VSG’s mobile production division completed the design and construction of NMT’s HD10, SBS1, SBS2 and SBS3 along with TV Azteca’s HD mobile unit. VSG completed a post production installation at NBC’s Olympic Group facility in Stamford, CT., which concluded in October. Currently, VSG and partner The Systems Group are teaming up on a complete HD studio installation at the New England Sports Network.

“I am proud of our core business constructing mobile production vehicles, particularly with the quality of work demonstrated in NMT’s HD10 and the SBS units,” says Dave Shaw, President of Venue Services Group, “and I am equally excited about our growth of operations and engineering services.”

In July, VSG began providing the United Nations Headquarters (UN) in New York City, a turn-key solution for facility operations and technical engineering support as part of a multi-year contract. The agreement provides outsourcing of the United Nations broadcast, technical and engineering operations, and supplies the UN the technical expertise to operate and engineer its multiple facilities. This includes the General Assembly and Security Council conference rooms, radio and television facilities and all other meeting rooms supporting the international peacekeeping body. In addition VSG supports all remote newsworthy events that occur.

“The impact of working with this esteemed institution is significant,” says Shaw, who began managing this group on July 1st. “We humbly embrace the opportunity of working with the United Nations organization. Providing the expertise to support the coming technological changes is necessary to improve its operation. This project demonstrates the depth of resources VSG offers, which is more than just system integration alone.”

The United Nations television, radio and conference room operations are responsible for audio mixing, multi-language feeds and audio/visual needs required for every conference room. This includes the General Assembly Hall; live and taped radio feeds of news events sent to the meeting rooms; live and taped television studio and news clips anywhere within the UN building and grounds; post production work for United Nations Department of Public Information and other internal groups; and acting as liaison to outside news organizations.

The United Nations celebrated its 60th anniversary in September, which added significantly to the workload of the VSG engineers and operators. “It is the responsibility of our staff at the UN to insure that all engineering and operations support are providing optimum functionality behind the scenes so that the dignitaries and delegates from around the world can be seen and heard in the highest quality possible,” said Shaw, formerly in charge of operations and engineering for prominent events while at Madison Square Garden Networks. “We take this responsibility seriously.”
