British Company Signs Thai Joint Venture

A new partnership has been brokered by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) creating a 5 year joint-venture between Bangkok Exhibition Services and UK company Exposales Ltd. The two companies have signed an agreement to integrate VFR Solutions 2006 - Vending, Franchise & Retail Technology Show into the very successful annual International Food & Hospitality Show. The show will be held 6-9th September 2006 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, Bangkok, Thailand.

The show also coincides with Retail Thailand ’06 -- the Thai retailers’ annual conference which creates THE annual event in the Thai retailing calendar. The 2005 show saw 700 companies from 40 countries participating with over 25,000 visitors of which 16,474 trade visitors were from 56 countries outside Thailand.

Staffordshire based Exposales Ltd has been involved in exhibitions and event management in Europe and the Far East, both as organisers and as designers of speciality displays.    

Exposales managing director, Nick Wheatley comments “The joint venture is the first of several we have been working very hard to achieve in Thailand. We have managed to broker a deal for one third of the main hall of a 17,000 square metre sell-out show which means that any new VFR exhibitors will get a prime location within the main thoroughfare of the main hall – the balance of which has been presold to previous IFHS exhibitors. Thailand has a vibrant retail scene with some of the largest malls in Asia hosting almost every international retailing name. However, franchising offers an opportunity for new joint-venture partnerships and this will be the first inclusion of a franchising pavilion. Similarly, whilst vending holds a prominent role in the food and beverage industries, the IFHS has not featured vending manufacturers who will be presented with a prime route to market by VFR Solutions 2006. The fast moving retail technology sector will be given an enhanced profile via a European Pavilion and e.tailing, dropshipping and e.commerce will be making their debut.”

Exposales has appointed Manchester-based consultant Steve Foley of Foley Associates as Project Director to co-ordinate PR, sales and marketing for the event. Steve Foley organised similar retail and franchise events in the Far East where he was resident for seven years.
