Crestview Capital Funds announced that Justin P. Oberman, Assistant Director of the Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, will join the firm as the senior analyst focused on homeland security, transportation and other related industries. Oberman announced that he will leave TSA next month.
“We are proud to have attracted such a high-ranking and experienced homeland security official,” said Stewart Flink, Managing, Co-founder of Crestview Capital Funds. “Justin's experience in helping to create TSA in the wake of 9/11, and his management of a key component of the agency over the last two years, give us the breadth and depth to effectively evaluate investment opportunities, and add value to our portfolio companies. We look forward to his contributions in homeland security, transportation, and other areas related to public policy.”
Oberman will review companies' business plans and suitability for investment, and assist in developing and executing strategies for growth for Crestview's holdings. In this role, he will help the firm broaden its portfolio while managing risk and upside in the still-emerging homeland security industry.
Mr. Oberman stated, “I am eager to join Crestview's team because it provides a sound platform to support the needs of the homeland security and transportation industries while creating value for our investors. The firm sees numerous opportunities every day, has holdings in growing companies, and is receptive to evaluating new opportunities. I am honored to have been at TSA for more than four years, and now look forward to a return to the private sector.”
At TSA, Oberman heads the Office of Transportation Threat Assessment and Credentialing, where he is responsible for the agency's programs to identify known or suspected terrorist threats seeking access to the transportation system. These programs cover the commercial aviation, general aviation, trucking, and maritime industries.
