Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) December 1, 2005 -- MillionArtists.com - Number of Registered Artists Doubled in Ten Days

The number of artists who have contributed to the millionartists.com World Record attempt has doubled in ten days. The goal of MillionArtists.com is to create a world wide collaborative piece of art in a way that has never been done before in this scale and in the process set a new world record.

"Of course these numbers are very easy to meet in beginning," said Eugene Pik the initiator of the Million Artists project, "however, if we can keep this up we should meet our target - one million artists registered - in less than six months."

To promote registered artists MillionArtists.com will run a contest for the best color. The contest will run for one month starting December 1st. During that time anyone can vote for their favorite artist and color. All votes will be counted on January 1st 2006 and the winner will get a 100 US dollar prize.

As a further give-back every person registered with MillionArtists.com receives a certificate and their name and URL is listed on the front page. Also one randomly selected artists' name and URL is shown on the top menu banner which is updated every time the page is reloaded.

MillionArtists.com is created by Eugene Pik and Anthony Barker and is aiming to break the 'Most Painters Of One Picture' Guinness World Record using Internet technology. Their idea is to invite one million artists from all over the world to place one pixel each on a blank page. The artists design the color and brightness of their pixel and then the computer randomly places the pixel on the picture. To verify their identity artists are authenticated using a reputable online financial system.
