SportsInsights.com, Who Does the Public Like in NFL Week 13 - NFL Sports Betting Marketplace

The most accurate gauge of public opinion in any sporting event is the sports betting market. By tracking the “number of bets” and “percentage of bets” placed on every match, SportsInsights.com shows readers which teams the public is favoring.

(PRWEB) December 2, 2005 -- The most accurate gauge of public opinion in any sporting event is the sports betting market. By tracking the “number of bets” and “percentage of bets” placed on every match, SportsInsights.com shows readers which teams the public is favoring.

All wagering statistics come directly from the lineboards of six independent online sportsbooks, and represent actual bets placed. We invite the sports media to take advantage of these unique statistics for use in stories, or a sidebar graphic.

NFL WEEK 12 Recap
NFL Week 12 was one of the worst on record for the sportsbook industry. The early Thanksgiving Day games were an omen for things to come as both home underdogs failed to cover. On Sunday, bad got worse, as Houston and Washington gave up large 4th quarter leads – both losing in OT by a touchdown. Nothing went the sportsbooks’ way in Week 12, as Favorites went 10-2. Steve Stone, line manager at OasisCasino.com, put it best, “When it rains, it pours.” The sportsbooks are hoping for sunnier weather this Sunday.

NFL WEEK 13 Preview
NFL Week 13 couldn’t come quick enough for the sportsbook industry. Look for handle sizes to increase as most betting accounts are flush with cash. Mark my words: the public will be chasing every heavy favorite on the board this week. I’d look for value in betting underdogs, as the sportsbooks will noticeably shade lines in an attempt to recoup some revenue and salvage something out of a dismal 2005 NFL season.

We anticipate Tampa Bay, New England, Seattle, and Indy to be the most “lopsided-bet” games of the week. Visit SportsInsights.com for real-time wagering statistics and information.
