For the first time ever Telluride guests will be offered the chance to track their mountain experience with the help of a GPS ski tracking service at this year’s Telluride Gay Ski Week, February 26 - March 5, 2006.

Skiers, who participate in the program, will receive an armband that is worn throughout the day to gather data on their skiing activities. At the end of each day, data is downloaded from the armband after which each skier is presented with a detailed souvenir map that reflects and tracks their number of runs, vertical feet, speed, calories burned, distance traveled; time skied, & terrain difficulty. The cost to participate is $35 daily.

"This is really an exciting addition to Telluride Gay Ski Week experience this year," said Tracee Hennigar, Special Events Manager for the Town of Mountain Village. "Both the die-hard and casual skier can capture an actual record of their daily skiing experience. Now you can show proof to your friends and family that you did ski a double diamond and not just a bunny slope."

The annual Telluride Gay Ski Week (TGSW) is a unique vacation experience that stands apart from other gay ski events. Designed as a distinct alternative to the average gay ski event, TGSW combines a unique blend of top-rate skiing and unpretentious activities with the spirited but laid-back charm of a European-style ski town. Guests will enjoy the 92-acre pedestrian centre of Mountain Village that encompasses an array of recreational facilities, restaurants, hotels and shops offering a unique selection of jewelry, furnishings, apparel and antiques.

Telluride Gay Ski Week 2006 boasts a full schedule of events in addition to its acclaimed skiing. This year's event will include not only its popular OSCAR NIGHT® and "White Night Powder" parties but also the new "Blue Ball Pool Party" as well as "Slip and Slide Thrill Hill Tubing Party." Another highlight of the week will be a film tribute to the 10-year anniversary of gay film festival favorite "It's in the Water." Kellie Herd, the film's writer, director and producer, will be in attendance for Q&A and post-film cocktail party.
