The directory indexes a wide range of Christmas resources, both informational and commercial. It lists both popular Christmas traditions and some of the more fringe activities and products. There is also a dedicated Kids area that includes games & activities, and lesson plans for Teachers.

When asked why he decided to publish a Christmas Index, Mr Bone replied "Most times when building new sites I am targeting a particular topic or filling a void. But sometimes I build a site just for fun. has been an idea in the back of my mind for many years, so this year I simply decided to have a bit of fun and build it, and it has already brought me a great deal of enjoyment."

"Also" he said, "in past Christmas Seasons I found myself frustrated at having to search again and again for the same things each Christmas, year in and year out, particularly when I would rather be spending that time with family and friends. So I put what I found into a directory to make it easier for myself and others."
