Chicago’s Top Corporations Launch Executive Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Management Council

Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Management executives from The Midwest’s top corporations, who collectively generate over $275 billion in sales, employ over 1.9 million and enjoy world-wide operations, met November 18, 2005, to share their experiences in driving value to their respective organizations in a competitive global economy.

Oak Brook, IL (PRWEB) December 5, 2005 -- Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Management executives from The Midwest’s top corporations, who collectively generate over $275 billion in sales, employ over 1.9 million and enjoy world-wide operations, met November 18, 2005, to share their experiences in driving value to their respective organizations in a competitive global economy.

The one day summit entitled, “The Best Practices Xchange (BPX)”, included a “Who’s Who” of the Midwest’s top Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Management Executives. Topics covered at the meeting included Managing IT Outsourcing Arrangements, The Strategic Sourcing of Software, and The Future of Sourcing.

The Council is a members-only, peer-to-peer group with a charter to provide thought leadership, advanced solutions and networking opportunities to group members. The group meets 4 times a year and the meetings are facilitated by the Oak Brook based consultancy - The Mpower Group.

The Council addresses major Global Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Management challenges such as:
- Building world-class sourcing and Supply Chain Management Organization
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Governance
- Outcome Based Process Improvement
