RMD Networks and Rose Communications Network: Partners In E-Healthcare

Internet-based healthcare is revolutionizing the delivery of healthcare across the United States. RMD Networks provides Rose Medical Group with the tools it needs to be one of the leaders in the adoption of this new technology. The Rose Communications Network is Denver’s first patient-focused collaborative care communications network and it has more than doubled its user base since its installation in 2003. The network provides a collaborative environment for patients, physicians and other medical providers.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) December 6, 2005 -- RMD Networks, Inc. today announced that Rose Medical Group, a Colorado-based physician-hospital organization with a reputation for high-quality healthcare and customer service, has more than doubled its Rose Communications Network user base since its installation in 2003. Built by RMD Networks, Rose Communications Network is Denver’s first collaborative care network and features more than 340 affiliated physicians.

Internet-based healthcare is revolutionizing the delivery of care across the United States and RMD Networks providing Rose Medical Group with the tools it needs to be one of the leaders in adopting this new technology.

RMD Networks provides Rose Medical Group with a secure communications and collaboration system. Branded Rose Communications Network, this technology connects physicians and their staff, patients, laboratories, hospitals and other healthcare service providers with a HIPAA-compliant, user-friendly system that significantly improves the quality of care by reducing operational costs and boosting efficiencies in the delivery of overall healthcare.

“Healthcare is a disconnected business, yet immediate access to critical information is absolutely vital in providing excellent patient care,” says Tracy Beranek, executive director at Rose Medical Group. “Rose Communications Network allows us to leverage technology to connect entire communities of physicians and medical staff with patients for more efficient communication and collaboration that result in a better quality of care, without placing a financial burden on the medical practice to implement or maintain that technology.”

E-Connecting Communities to Improve Healthcare
Rose Communications Network has grown rapidly since its inception in June 2003. Its user base has more than doubled to 925 physicians and staff and 830 patients. More than 450,000 transactions have been sent and received through the network, each one helping to streamline and simplify the delivery of care.

Patient information can be easily accessed by any authorized network member from anywhere within Internet. Each time a primary-care physician refers a patient to a specialist they have the ability to forward important patient information, such as clinical test results, to the specialist. This efficiency leads to fewer duplicative tests, lower costs and a more informed diagnosis.

As well as facilitating collaboration between healthcare providers, patients can communicate online with their physicians and their staff. For example, patients send prescription requests through Rose Communication Network and physicians respond with a simple click of a mouse. Prior to the network launch, physicians received an exhaustive pile of messages from patients, leading to multiple layers of potentially disconnected communications between office staff and physician.

A Happy Physician is a Good Physician
“What was originally implemented as a messaging system has grown into so much more,” says Beranek. “Now the network is responsible for helping physicians provide more efficient clinical care because all healthcare providers collaborate easily and securely over the Internet on the care of a common patient.”

Beranek says she regularly receives unsolicited, glowing feedback from physicians and staff who use the Rose Communications Network. “It is a healthcare system’s responsibility to create a healthy community, but it is important to keep expenses down so that we can provide value to our patients,” says Beranek. “In this scenario, everybody wins.”

Two of the nation’s largest laboratories partner with the Rose Communications Network - LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics.

“RMD Networks is excited by the success Rose Communications Network has yielded within a year and we are confident their success will continue to serve as model to the healthcare community to illustrate the benefits of digital healthcare,” says Steve Adams, president and founder of RMD Networks. “We are committed to offering collaboration as a key element in the delivery of healthcare services.”
