If Bowie Met Costello and Had a Baby, it Would Be Virtual Musical Artist Redlemon on New Song “Fly”

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) December 4, 2005 -- If David Bowie and Elvis Costello got together and had a baby (if that was possible), that baby would some day grow up to be a virtual musical artist much like Redlemon on their new independently released rock opera, “Fly [The End of Wars.

“Our fans are constantly comparing us to either David Bowie or Elvis Costello, which is a pretty wide range when you think about it. The title song “Fly” is especially influenced by Bowie, as are "Truly (Patchen's Song)" and "Brave Parade." We’re also a lot like that virtual English band, Gorillaz, and even the Pet Shop Boys, because we draw from a lot of influences and don’t want to be restricted artistically. We’re even thinking of releasing a hip-hop version of “(Germantown) Avenue” that we’re working on now.”

Redlemon is a virtual musical project from the anime character Rob Redlemon. Through the miracle of modern technology, and in ways not yet easily understood, he was able to collaborate with present-day musicians in recording his story. Those musicians include Jay Davidson (whose credits include Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Stevie Winwood), Charlene Holloway (Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan), and Keith Atkinson (SocialVoyeurs, Tin Men). Redlemon’s website is www.redlemonfly.com.

Redlemon is exploring multimedia vehicles for “Fly [The End of Wars,” including animated videos, a graphic novel, and a stage production. “We are exploring the idea of releasing my videos of "Fly" to the general public as soon as I am able to partner with some anime companies. I need to reconstruct and repair some of the video that was damaged during the harsh conditions in which I filmed it - the end of the world as we know it.”

Not much is known about Rob Redlemon. He is very reticent about where he came from and how he survived the world's explosion at the end of "Fly [the End of Wars." He has said that he will occasionally be available for interviews. Some of his collaborators are known to have actually won on the television talent show “StarSearch” and made numerous television appearances.

Rob has red hair, carries a guitar around on his back, and was madly in love with Sweet Tart, as is self-evident from "Fly [the End of Wars." He likes good caviar, when he can find it, and Cristal champagne, of course. His favorite musicians are the ones that played on this CD, the virtual band Gorillaz, Rufus Wainwright, David Bowie and Elvis Costello. His favorite book is any book of poetry by Kenneth Patchen, and his favorite movie is La Dolce Vita. His hobbies include time travel and morphing.

“Fly [The End of Wars” is available at Gallery of Sound and other select retail outlets, CDBaby.com, and via digital download at Apple’s iTunes and AOL’s MusicNet. For further information, please contact Redlemon at 267-625-3951 (press inquiries only).
