Shopping for a good candle is like shopping for good wine. A dilettante of spirits considers color, flavor, fragrance, texture, ingredients and even bottle shape before making a decisive purchase.

According to Donald W. Kensey, owner of Olde Chapp Candle Co., http://www.OldeChapp.com, the very same guidelines apply to candle shopping – all except taste.

“Unlike wine, a candle is a gift that can be enjoyed by everyone in the home, not just those who are 21 years and over,” said Kensey. “When you give a friend or relative a candle this holiday season, you are giving the gift of warmth, light and hope that can be enjoyed by all.”

Given increasingly conflicting public attitudes about liquor as a holiday gift, Olde Chapp is developing a niche to accommodate holiday shoppers in the home and in the office.

“In response to public demand, we’re introducing a candle that gift-giving businesses – and, yes, even families – can customize for their holiday giving,” added Kensey, a South Jersey native.

“Gifting a box of fragrant-scented candles is a fresh way to give regular clients – or prospects – a gift item that will remind them of the giver. The promotional value of putting your business’ name on the desks of your clients everyday is tremendous.”

Interested businesses can submit company logos via e-mail to Kensey@OldeChapp.com. The minimum order for corporate logos is 200 candles of any size.

Kensey says consumers seeking better candles should consider burning time, realistic fragrances, colors and safety.

“With environmental concerns on the rise, Olde Chapp candles are designed with safety in mind,” explained Kensey. “We use strictly lead-free wicks to cut back on toxin emission into customers’ homes and offices, and we use soy, a renewable energy source, in our wax blend.”

The current product line includes four different sizes of jar candles; a variety of sizes of pillar candles; votives; tartes and t-light are all available in over 60 different fragrances. Also available are unscented tapers in a spectrum of different colors.

Accessories such as tarte burners, candle cappers, wick trimmers and match holders are available, too. A large selection of gift baskets for all occasions including holidays, birthdays, baby showers and more can be ordered or customized.
