SAN RAMON, Calif. (PRWEB) December 7, 2005
Sunflower Systems™, the company that has redefined lifecycle asset management as a strategic imperative, today announced it has entered into an agreement with Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI) to provide and implement Sunflower Assets™ and Sunflower MobileTrak™, part of the Sunflower Enterprise™ suite of lifecycle asset management and strategic asset intelligence solutions.
BNI will implement the enterprise-based solutions to streamline government property management at locations around the world. Sunflower Assets will function as the asset system of record and interfaces with other applications including human resources and the Bechtel Procurement System. This, in turn, creates a composite framework for strategic planning, budgeting and compliance. “Our business need was based on an enterprise lifecycle asset management solution that is centered on compliance,” said Kenneth Felker, BNI’s government property control manager. “We chose the Sunflower solution because it provides total asset visibility across the BNI enterprise for government property management, tracking, classification, historical, and maintenance data.”
Sunflower Systems solutions are favored by executive management, finance officers, auditors, risk management and compliance groups by providing a single system of record for all assets throughout large, diverse organizations. Sunflower Assets - the company’s flagship product - provides clarity to existing asset management processes and provides total asset visibility across the enterprise. Assets are managed from the time funds are obligated, through disposal, including all events during an asset’s life as it is depreciated, moved, inventoried, maintained, and reutilized. Through analysis of this comprehensive information, enterprises can establish a holistic representation, including utilization and total cost of ownership, on the considerable variety of assets in which they have invested significant resources.
Additional services include personalized technical, functional and user training at BNI locations worldwide. Based on adult learning styles and techniques, these instructor-led classes are supplemented with hands-on exercises, coaching and mentoring, and access to online training materials.
“We have experienced tremendous demand from forward-thinking organizations — such as BNI — that have adopted the paradigm shift in asset management,” commented Robert Kaehler, vice president and general manager at Sunflower Systems. “Asset Management - and more specifically lifecycle asset management - has emerged as a strategic objective delivering measurable impacts on financial performance, rather than being just a tactical inventory of what assets an enterprise possesses. We look forward to continuing our relationship with BNI as part of delivering lifecycle asset management solutions to the government contractor marketplace.”
